A balanced perspective to mediations and the negotiation process
Prior to focusing exclusively on his mediation practice, David has over 21 years of litigation experience in a wide range of areas including personal injury, disability, property, insurance, employment, oil and gas, shareholder disputes, and construction.
He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants over his career, giving him a balanced perspective and practical understanding of some of the issues faced by parties in such disputes. David applies this balanced perspective in his approach to mediations and the negotiation process.
In 2024, in recognition of his legal skill, and contribution to the legal profession and public life David was appointed King’s Counsel (KC) by the Minister of Justice of Alberta.
In December 2022, David was recognized by the Alberta Chapter of the Canadian Academy of Distinguished Neutrals for Excellence in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
